TEAM OF CHOICE WIN KZN DERBY

United now have five points from their first three games having drawn 1-1 at home to SuperSport United in their opener then by the same scoreline away to Bidvest Wits.

United were deserved 2-0 leaders at the break having dominated the first half.

After Musa Nyat ama had struck the crossbar with a powerful long-range shot in the 22nd minute, the home team opened the scoring when Fadlu Davids headed in Felix Obada's cross from right midfield.

A minute before the break, United made it 2-0. Peter Petersen's long throw from the right fell to Noah Chivuta just inside the area who expertly chested the ball then shot powerfully onto the crossbar, and the ball rolled into the net off the back of AmaZulu goalkeeper Nicolas Gindre.

In the second half, United consolidated and defended their lead but the home team could not quite get their passes together as well as they had in the first 45 minutes.

AmaZulu had their chances to get back into the game but missed them.

Substitute Ayanda Dlamini got up well to head Sthembiso Dlamini's corner just wide across goal. Then the AmaZulu striker struck the crossbar from just inside the area.

United's best chance of the half came when substitute Kulegani Madondo's long-range shot was well saved by Gindre.

Senegalese Mor Diouf, playing his second game for United, was a tower of strength in defence.
