Before moving to Arrows, Phakathi played for Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
"Bheka has been training with the “Team of Choice” for the past two weeks and underwent a full medical and we are pleased to announce that he has been signed by United," said brand manager, Mr. Younus Kadodia.
"Versatile Bheka can play as a central defender and can be utilized in the holding role he is best known for, as an anchorman in central midfield," said Gordon Igesund. "Having him in the squad provides cover in the spine of the team."
"He has played sporadically in the last two seasons at Arrows, but always showed his class when he did take the field", added CEO Afzal Khan. "He is also very experienced player, which will be a useful asset given the relatively young nature of our game."
