UNITED’S 1ST OFFICIAL SUPPORTERS CLUB 10 November 2009 The first Maritzburg United Supporters’ Club was officially launched on the 11 November 2009 at the Rolands Sports Club in Northdale.

The branch will serve the needs of the Club’s supporters in the Northern Suburbs and its surrounding areas.

The Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Samlall said the formation of the Club has been long overdue and is excited for the supporters from the area.

The idea of the Supporters Club was always his desire and together with the Club’s Supporters coordinator, Mr. Paul Lutchman called for a meeting with the supporters from the Northern Suburbs.

Amongst the nominees for the appointment of Chairman were Mr. Phumlani, Mr. Ndlovu, Mr. Domnic Potgieter, Mr. Imran, Mr. Desen. Mr. Pogieter will serve as the Club’s Secretary.

Mr. Younus Kadodia, the Club’s Brand Manager congratulated Mr. Samwell on their efforts in the establishment of the Supporters Branch and noted this as historical and will ensure that the Club is recognized and get support from the Club.

"This is indeed special and here lies a challenge to other areas that need to establish their branches," said Kadodia.

The Chairman appealed to all the supporters present that the membership should be increased as their immediate goal and to inform all registered card carrying members that the next meeting will take place on Thursday, 19 November 2009 at 20H00 at Rolands Sports Club. (opposite Northdale Stadium).
