IT IS BECOMING UMCOMFORTABLE - FAROOK KADODIA

4 December 2009

Chairman Farook Kadodia chats about United's results of late, the PSL fixture list, the spate of red cards suffered by the team, and more...

Greetings. Firstly I would like to commend the Team for the character shown in last Sunday’s victory here over Amazulu.

The board of directors have dug deep and stretched our resources to achieve success and performances similar to Sundays leave us all satisfied and we believe, that just like you that have followed the team faithfully, that only a top 8 finish will satisfy us for the investment you and we have made.

We have made calculated decisions in similar circumstances as you very well know, and it is my belief that we are about to make that winning streak come to fruition.

A win over Chiefs this week-end will set the tone. It is paramount that you share the same belief together with the Directors, Coach and our players and let them know that they can do it for the “City of Choice” and let the pendulum be on the side of the “Team of Choice”.

I must express my shock at the standard of the officiating at our recent home games. It is unacceptable and is difficult for the home teams to pacify supporter emotions when this behaviour happens, time and again.

In our last two games we had to play almost the entire games with ten players, to add further injury is when the injustice is visible when it comes to the imbalance in bookings, our players are thus given a raw deal.

With 3 games in a week now during this crazy period, it is tough on 11 players to play let alone 10. FIFA clearly states “For the Good of the Game” but after our experiences, it worries me how true is that slogan.

I have always stressed to all at United and made it known countless times that you the supporters are the “Kings” of our team. It is you that make the team click into another gear and my players are aware the joy and pain you feel whenever they play.

What also touches me is the concern you have shown through your expression either verbally or otherwise. As the saying goes and so true, “Together we Can” and believe we can turn the corner this week-end.

This week-end is our second trip to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in what promises to be another memorable occasion as we welcome the Motoung’s and Kaizer Chiefs to Durban.

Together we need to rally behind this team of ours and shout our boys to victory.
