Maritzburg United have officially unveiled the 3 new players that joined the team late last week and featured in Sunday’s match against Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The three players are Goalkeeper Shuaib Walters, Defender Mario Booysen and Attacking midfielder, Kurt Lentjies. The trio have joined the Team of Choice on loan deals.

Speaking to the clubs official website Maritzburgunited.co.za, CEO Afzal Khan said “ Shuaib’s experience and ability to command his defence will no doubt be very crucial for the team from now until the end of the season. He is a very imposing player and will help bring some stability to the team’s last line of defence.

At 1.91 meter’s tall, Mario will certainly be an asset for the team as he gives us both an advantage on attacking and defending set plays” said Khan. He is a young, uncompromising centre back who has the benefit of undergoing excellent development at Ajax and at 21 years of years is destined for greater things.” Added Khan

“Kurt’s has been a player Maritzburg have had their eye on for the last 3 seasons. His ability to control proceedings from the centre of the field, together with his vision and playing making abilities were the main reason’s that led us to convince Sundown’s management to release him,” concluded Khan.

The new signing’s expected to feature and play key roles in helping the Team of Choice climb up the league table.
