It will be the “Team of Choice's” last home fixture of the 2009/2010 PSL season and the team will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten record at the Harry Gwala Stadium after convincing wins against Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates in the last two home fixtures.
United will need to guard against the likes of Erwin Isaacs, Phikolethu Spelman and Eleazar Rodgers up front who have been in excellent form for the “People’s team” this season.
“The last 2 games at Harry Gwala have seen some excellent football being displayed by the Team, and the boys will be keen to avenge the 4-0 loss earlier in the Season in the away game in Cape Town” Said Brand Manager, Younus Kadodia. “
The objective at the beginning of the season was to target a place in the top 10, and this game allows us to finish in 9th place,” added Kadodia.
United have shown under the astute leadership of Middendorp that they are maturing into vastly improved team that are aiming high and if the striking trio of Davids, Obada and Bester come right on the day, United should continue their excellent form at their “Slaughter house”.
“A Victory will ensure a good finish in the league and will put us in good stead ahead of the Knockout Competitions”, Said Captain Fadlu Davids. “We want to say thank you to our supporters for amazing support throughout the season and give them another dose of exciting soccer”, added Davids.
A Maritzburg Legends team will play against Savages Football Club in the Main Curtain Raiser which kicks off at 13h15.
