Chairman’s Message

11 May 2011

For all associated with the club, the win over Mamelodi Sundowns has brought huge respite. Chairman Farook Kadodia gives his views on the season gone by, and on the future…

"Our result against Mamelodi Sundowns has brought much sought after relief to the Clubs directors, management, players and fans alike.

"It is without a doubt agonizing to extend your season into June when the promotion/relegation play-off takes place. I am a firm believer that the football displayed against Sundowns was what this team was always capable off. However we only showed it in patches during the season which was disappointing and we need to find that consistency going forward.

"We had to endure many challenges to fight away from the dreaded drop zone this season. Commitment and honesty was my main concern as certain players would under perform with poor tactical behaviour and our bumpy ride began in February from our match against Moroka Swallows, a game which we went into with a six point advantage over the birds.

"That loss reduced our gap to three points and from then on we were checkmated with Swallows over the next 8 fixtures. Ex coach Ernst Middendorp failed to dissect the problem that led to his outbursts on National Television.

Fortunately, decisive management and the appointment of Coach Ian Palmer arrested our “Cancer” and we managed to perform the rescue act. The club has committed itself to Ian Palmer for a further season with a longer stay in the pipeline."
