A new season has dawned upon us, with new opportunities on the horizon. First and foremost I would like to thank you our loyal fans for the unrelenting support you have rendered to the team during the past season. I trust that as we move forward into the 2011/12 season you will continue to be your vociferous selves.

With so many new additions to the Maritzburg United family it’s evident that we are serious about contending for higher honours and I am positive you will embrace our new signings. We are pleased with our opening performances and are confident in aiming to get our first win this week.

On Wednesday night we welcome defending league champions “The Buccaneers” Orlando Pirates to our slaughter house. Pirates have been have been in good form recently and have opened their Premiership campaign with two wins.

We intend on spoiling their party and I am positive with your support we can sink Pirates ship. The guys have been looking sharp all week and are looking forward to tonight’s encounter.

New signings Prince Olomu and Wayne Matle are raring to go and have proven to be a handful in our last two games. Everyone has been putting 120% in training and we are confident we will reap the sweet reward of success tonight.

This is our season, so I urge you to arm yourself with your Vuvuzela’s and Makarapa’s and let us break into song and dance, remember you are the 12 th man that spurs us on.
