Lentjies back with a goal in Usuthu friendly
8 September 2011

A frustrating injury – a dislocated big toe which required stitches, has kept midfielder Kurt Lentjies side-lined from early season action, but now he’s back…

The Team of Choice recently took part in two friendly matches against AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Outer Fields.

The first game ended 2-2, with Renaldo Donnelly and Jabulani Ncubeni on the score-sheet for the PMB side, while Stanton Lewis scored twice for the coastal outfit.

In the second game, Lentjies, along with Felix Obada, scored for United in a 2-1 win over Usuthu (Ayanda Dlamini netting for the hosts).

A fit Lentjies will be a big boost to coach Ian Palmer and will provide the Maritzburg manager with a welcome selection ‘headache’.

He will now have the option of drafting Lentjies into a talent-laden midfield that includes regulars Kulegani Madondo and Obada, plus youngsters Jabulani Ncubeni, Sheldon Lawrence, Michael Morton and Rheece Evans, not to mention midfielder-cum-striker Prince Olomu.

United’s next fixture is away to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on September 14.
