United out to upset on-form Downs
18 November 2011

This week finally sees the Team of Choice back in competitive action when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria on Sunday.

Currently on a five match unbeaten streak, Mamelodi Sundowns will provide stiff opposition for a Maritzburg side desperate to get back to winning ways.

The match takes place at the Loftus Stadium on Sunday, kick off 3-30pm.

United will be without the suspended Diyo Sibisi, which could open the door for Nigerian striker Abobabe Olukolade to make his first start for the KZN side.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Maritzburg have met in 10 league games since 2005/06.

The Tshwane side have nine wins compared to just one for the Team of Choice. There have been no draws between the teams.

That win for United came last season when they defeated the Brazilians 3-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Kurt Lentjies will be up against his former club, for whom former Team of Choice midfielder Musa Nyatama now plays.

Downs are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 19 points from 10 matches. United drew 0-0 at home to Kaizer Chiefs in their last match. They have taken just one point from the last nine available.

Maritzburg have yet to win away from home this season, with three draws and two losses from five matches.

The game is live on SS4.
