Terrence Mandaza
The Team of Choice have been monitoring the Zimbabwean Hit man (pictured above) since the 2009/2010 Season, where he broke the Goal scoring records for Township Rollers in Botswana with an impressive 42 goals in 33 games.
However at the time, Platinum Stars beat the Team of Choice and a host of other interested clubs to the player’s signature and Mandaza moved to the Rustenburg Based Club.
The 27 year old, who has been capped at senior level for his country, will be eager to team up with countryman, Cuthbert Malajila, who also was a player targeted at the same time as Mandaza, but only signed for the Team of Choice in January this year and has already begun making a name for himself in the Premier Soccer League.
“I am really looking forward to working with Coach Middendorp as I believe that he will be able to get the best out of me at Maritzburg United FC. I am aware that I arrived in the country with much expectation and I am yet to deliver and I am thankful for the Club to still have belief in me and I am looking to repaying the club with as many goals as I can score this season,” said Mandaza
Maritzburg United Head Coach, Ernst Middendorp was happy with his latest acquisition, noting that Mandaza would "give a different dimension", bringing strength to the Maritzburg United strike force and complementing Cuthbert Malajila’s pacey play.
Frank Sarfo- Gyamfi
Maritzburg United Football Club have completed their 5th signing ahead of the new season by confirming the signing of Ghanaian youngster, Frank Sarfo- Gymafi. The talented young midfielder has been instrumental in the Ghanaian U20 team in recent youth competitions and had many clubs looking to snap him up.
However, Middendorp and the United management were able to seal the deal for the youngster as his switch to the Team of Choice was made official with his unveiling today.
Middendorp, who has links in Ghana through his previous coaching jobs in the country, said “we have scouted Frank for a few months now. He is an exceptional talent and has been coached well at WA ALL STARS Football Club. I’m delighted he has chosen to come to Maritzburg and I believe he has a lot to offer and we are all looking forward to working with him.”
“I am really excited to be signing for Maritzburg United Football Club. I would like to thank my Chairman at WA ALL STARS for everything he has done for me as a player and I cannot wait to continue my development with Coach Middendorp and learn from the experienced players in the squad. My aim is to go to Europe in the near future and I will give my all to help Maritzburg United FC achieve success,” said Sarfo-Gyamfi.
