The Cape Town Born player who was part of the Bafana Bafana squad during the 2010 World Cup Finals has been at the club since signing from Bloemfontein Celtic in November 2009.
Walters has put in several good performances as the United number 1 and has firmly cemented his place as Ernst Middendorp’s first choice goal keeper.
Walters told the club's official website: "I'm very pleased to have signed a new contract and I'm glad that management has shown the confidence in me by giving me a new deal.
"It is a huge challenge for one to keep his spot in the team over a long term period, but that is my aim, to wear the Number 1 jersey week in, week out and help the team achieve success”
Club Chairman, Farook Kadodia has praised Walter’s progress with the Pietermaritzburg team and believes the shot stopper will play a pivotal role in the team for the next few years.
"I am delighted he has signed a new contract and also delighted to see that he has clearly returned from the off season break eager to work hard and lead by example at training” added Kadodia.
Walters is the Front Runner to be named as the Team of Choice skipper on Wednesday ahead of the opening game of the season this Sunday vs Tuks
