The Team of Choice secured a 2-0 win over AmaZulu on Tuesday to find themselves in third place with four points from two games.
The goals came from red-hot Zimbabwean striker Cuthbert Malajila, and there were also some telling contributions going forward from the likes of Delron Buckley, Orlando Smeekes, Mthokozisi Yende and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi.
“We had more power in our movement forward with the option of Smeekes and Gymafi and that is something we can look forward to more this year, having more weapons in the front line.
“If you take a player like Delron Buckley, he was very crucial for us,” Middendorp told PSL.co.za.
The new signings at the Pietermaritzburg club certainly seem to be making a positive impact and if momentum can be gained from their initial impact, it could be an exciting season for the Team of Choice faithful.
“The players know it that we always have a plan B and even a plan C. Those will always give us different options if the opponents are negating the initial system we entered the game with.
“It’s actually very good for us and it was something that we targeted during the off season (having more options),” added Middendorp.
