LUKHUBENI & NJOTI READY TO CHARGE OUT THE BLOCKS

2 February, 2022

Maritzburg United's new signings shared their excitement after joining the Team Of Choice in the January transfer window.

The duo of Nicholas Lukhubeni and Tumelo Njoti joined Maritzburg United before the close of the January transfer window.

Both players are excited to be part of the Team of Choice and they are looking to steer the club to greatness.

Lukhubeni, who previously played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United, has revealed his goals and objectives with the Team of Choice.

“I’m excited to be joining the club and looking forward to donning the club’s colours and helping the team achieve their goals for the season," the 26-year-old told the club's official website.

Njoti was previously on the books of Bloemfontein Celtic and is delighted about his new chapter.

“I’m super happy about the opportunity that has been offered to me. I'm feeling at home. I've been warmly welcomed at the club," Njoti stated.

Head coach at the club, Ernst Middendorp believes that these players will add value to his squad.

“Lukhubeni is a team player, competent in the wing-back position but more comfortable in executing the attacking duties of the position,” Middendporp explained.

Lukhubeni is working diligently at training to get his match fitness.

“He was not really used at his former club (Sekhukhune) but we hope he gets match fitness as soon as possible.” Middendorp elaborated.

“Njoti is very focused. Even with his introverted personality. We have seen in our training sessions that Njoti is very effective with his qualified left foot, putting in goals and assists," Middendorp explained.

The club has been busy during the January transfer window period acquiring the services of Lucky Baloyi, Steven Pereira, Tawanda Macheke, Friday Samu, and Genino Palace.
